The direct subsidies for stockbreeders for Campaign 2012 will thus total about 140 million BGN. Each farmer can quickly check the size of their financial aid on the SFA website:
State Fund Agriculture (SFA) transferred the first part of the decoupled complementary national direct payments for cattle and buffalo, as well as the payments coupled to sheep and goats. A total of 96 million BGN will be paid under these two schemes in two parts. SFA transferred 63 million BGN during the first payment tranche. Stockbreeders received 140 BGN per cattle and 210 BGN per buffalo. The payment per sheep or goat was 30 BGN. The second part of the payments will start in early 2013 and will reach 28 million BGN. Stockbreeders will receive an additional 60 BGN per cattle, 140 BGN per buffalo, and 11 per goat or sheep.
In December 2012, SFA will also pay 40 million BGN for dairy cattle and sheep. These schemes are financed by the European Agriculture Guarantee Fund. Stockbreeders will receive an additional 4 million BGN in national complementary payments for beef cattle.
