Over 11 million BGN will be distributed among 75 projects under Measure 121: Modernisation of agricultural holdings. Fifteen of the candidates are organic farmers who will use the subsidies to purchase equipment. They will create several orchards with irrigation systems and fences. The farmers will also grow oil-yielding rose and lavender. One of the candidates will invest in growing organic hazelnuts while two other farmers will create walnut and almond gardens. SFA also approved projects for herb growing and building a modern greenhouse complex for organic cucumbers and tomatoes.
Other plant growing projects propose investments in tunnel greenhouses with a photovoltaic power supply for plum growing, buying tractor-driven equipment for transporting grapes and a power-agriculture system for growing tomatoes.
A big number of farms will invest in animal waste management equipment to ensure compliance with the Nitrate directive. They will purchase tractor trailers for manure transport, aluminum extensions and other tools. The subsidies will also be used for purchasing milking machines, watering troughs, cooling tubs, etc.
